Milestone Assessments

We are introducing a new assessment system to give you clearer, more precise information about your child’s learning. Throughout the year, teachers check progress against key milestones taken directly from the National Curriculum. Alongside daily classroom assessment, teachers will now use our new summative tests, which link exactly to the learning covered each term.

The milestones show the specific knowledge and skills taught this term and help you see the objectives your child has been working on.

This system allows us to identify your child’s strengths and any areas where they may need further support. If your child is not yet meeting a milestone, teachers will provide individual next steps so you know exactly how to help at home.

Milestones act as stepping-stones across the year, showing what pupils should know at this stage.
